We are happy to announce that Dr. Fiona Holter has started as the new Assistant Director of the H/21 project. Holter is also a Staff Historian for the U.S. Army. In 2021, she earned her PhD from the University of Mississippi with her dissertation, “Between the Two Great Battlefields: Scottish Medical Women’s Encounters with the Eastern Front.” From 2014 to 2020, Fiona was an history instructor at Tidewater Community College in Chesapeake, Virginia, where she helped develop and deliver OER courses for World, Western, and U.S. surveys. Fiona brings vast teaching and content design experience to the History for the 21st Century initiative. For H/21, Fiona will be designing (and redesigning) lesson plans for the modules, working with module authors, and helping to organize activities as we work to bring high quality, student-centered, inquiry-driven, and active-learning lesson plans to you and your students for free. She started work May 2. Be looking in June for our new look at history21.com!
